Suspect arrested in Kedah over criminal threats against PM


JITRA: A man has been arrested on suspicion of making a death threat against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on social media.

Kedah police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh said the 43-year-old man was arrested at about 10pm on Thursday (Nov 30) at his house in Kulim, adding that five police reports were made statewide.

"The first report was lodged at 5.33pm at Kampung Tanjung police station in Padang Terap. Reports were also lodged in Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, Kubang Pasu and Kulim." he said at a press conference here on Friday (Dec 1).

Fisol said the suspect, who is a teacher at a school in Kulim, would be remanded for four days. – Bernama
