Penang govt outlines flood mitigation plan for Teluk Bahang area


GEORGE TOWN: The Penang state government has taken several measures to reduce the risk and impact of flash floods in the Teluk Bahang area, the state assembly was told on Thursday (Nov 23).

State infrastructure, transport and digital development committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari said the state government through the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) in its short-term plan has conducted regular river maintenance every year and minor repair works in Teluk Bahang through state management allocations.
