Cops nab four, including three foreign women, in raid on JB entertainment outlet


JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested four individuals, including three foreign women for violating the conditions of their social visit passes, during a raid at an entertainment centre here.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said that the raid was conducted by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department at 12.40am on Sunday (Nov 12).

“Investigations revealed that the premises was operating without a licence, and all of the visitors were busy partying.

“We inspected a total of 75 individuals, consisting of 51 men and 24 women, where we arrested a local man and three foreign women, aged between 23 and 33 years old,” he said in a statement here on Monday (Nov 13).

ACP Raub added that the police have also confiscated a set of amplifiers, two microphones, and three receipts.

The case is being investigated under Section 6(2) of the Johor Entertainment Places Enactment for operating without a licence and Section 39(b) and Section 55B of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for working without a valid permit and recruiting foreign workers that do not have valid passes.
