Five teens nabbed for raping student

IPOH: Five teenagers have been nabbed for allegedly raping a Form Two girl, while another was also detained for bringing her to the house in Hutan Melintang.

They were arrested a day after the 14-year-old victim’s mother lodged a police report on Oct 17.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the school had informed the mother of the incident before she lodged the report at about 8.30pm on Oct 17.ACP Ahmad Adnan said the alleged rape is believed to have occurred on Sept 24 at about 2.30am in Hutan Melintang.

“The victim was invited by a male school friend to a house, and when she arrived, she saw several other friends, including some schoolmates.

“The victim was asked to engage in sexual activities, where five of the teens aged between 15 and 17 took turns to rape her,” he said, adding that the friend who brought her to the house was not involved in the alleged rape.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said, based on information, police arrested the suspects on Oct 18, five of whom are schoolmates with the victim. He said the other suspect, who is 17 years old, had stopped schooling.

“All the suspects have been remanded until today. Police will be carrying out investigations under Section 375B of the Penal Code for gang rape,” he said.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said the investigation papers will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor’s office for the next course of action.
