Opportunities aplenty for Indians

PETALING JAYA: There are economic development opportunities available for Indians in all of the ministries following the Budget 2024 announcement, says Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan.

The Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (Mitra) Special Vehicle Committee chairman assured that all funds allocated to the community will be spent effectively and with integrity through various strategic initiatives that will prioritise the B40 and M40 groups.

“I will bear the responsibility of ensuring Mitra’s allocation in Budget 2024 will have an optimal impact on the socioeconomic development of the Indian community.

“The government has also provided entrepreneurship funds as well as maintenance of SJKT schools for the socioeconomic development of the Indian community,” he said.

On Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when tabling Budget 2024, said RM30mil out of RM330mil allocated to Tekun for small-scale entrepreneurs will go to the Indian community.

Anwar’s unity government had also allocated RM100mil to Mitra for the Indian community’s socioeconomic development.
