PETALING JAYA: The One Shah Alam One Destination programme is timely to deliver the best of Shah Alam and is also a tribute to its immediate neighbour, Klang, the royal town which will be receiving its city status in November.

One Shah Alam One Destination is a celebration of unity and diversity. It is a reflection of the collective spirit that defines us all.

i-City is hard at work to create an environment that reflects this unity. Last year, it announced a RM10mil investment for its City of Digital Light lightscape and attractions enhancements.

Next month, the fruits of the investment will rapidly come to fruition.

Preparations to bring a mesmerising spectacle to i-City’s main boulevard as its DoubleTree by Hilton porte-cochere transforms it into a dazzling pathway with golden specks of lights extending into colossal ribbons of golden sparkles.

With over one million LED lights, the CNN-acclaimed City of Digital Lights with its dazzling enhanced lightscape promises an immersive journey into joy and wonder.

This is more than a visual spectacle – it’s a metaphor for the radiant diversity that defines the city of Shah Alam.

People from all walks of life will be able to enjoy themselves and bond with others under the spectacular night lights.

The November unveiling of the new lightscape will be followed by the opening of a 50,000 sq ft (4,645sqm) Digital Sports Arena and a five-dimensional Immersive Winterland.

i-City is set to become a canvas for shared experiences yet again.

Community-building is not just a physical endeavour. It is a moral process that requires intentional efforts to foster unity.

One Shah Alam One Destination is also about hosting community programmes that resonate with the principles of oneness and harmony.

National public events, local community initiatives and brand-sponsored extravaganzas will echo through the spaces around i-City for everyone to participate.

Partners on board include the government sector, DoubleTree by Hilton i-City, Central i-City Mall, Best Western Hotel, Mercu Maybank and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), among others.

i-City, at its core today, is not merely a township. It is a living embodiment of community spirit, transcending barriers and fostering a sense of togetherness. Its commitment to the One Shah Alam One Destination corporate social responsibility programme (CSR) is a bold step in this direction.

It is more than just a CSR programme, with its visionary pledge to bring Malaysians of diverse beliefs, cultural affiliations and generations together, echoing the core principles of the Malaysia Madani concept.
