State polls: Selat Klang BN candidate a people-oriented leader, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has described Selat Klang candidate, Datuk Roslee Abd Hamid, as a hardworking person and a man with calibre.

He said Roslee is a people-oriented leader who is committed to serving the welfare of others.

Dr Wee said this in support of the Kapar Umno chief when he joined him during the Selangor state election campaign trail.

“Roslee, who is known as ‘Tok Lee’, is a good friend of mine.

“He has been given the trust by the leaders to represent Barisan Nasional for the N44 state seat and I would like to tell the voters here that he is the best candidate to represent them in the Selangor state assembly.

“He was previously a Port Klang Authority board member when I was Transport Minister, and I know he is diligent and has calibre,” Dr Wee said in a Facebook post.

He said as proof of a united support for Roslee, other MCA leaders have also joined him for the campaign trail on Tuesday (Aug 1).

This includes Kapar MCA chief Datuk Song Kee Chai, Klang MCA chief Datuk Steve Lim, and Shah Alam MCA chief Datuk Loo Kooi Thiam.

Also present were MCA deputy treasurer-general Datuk Lawrence Low, who is Kota Raja MCA chief, and national MCA Women deputy chief Tee Hooi Ling.

Roslee will be contesting against incumbent Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari, who is Selangor Bersatu chief, and Parti Rakyat Malaysia deputy president Datuk Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor in a three-way fight for the seat.
