Rafizi takes jibe at PN for refusing to debate him on economic matters

PETALING JAYA: Rafizi Ramli (pic) has taken a jibe at Perikatan Nasional leaders for refusing to face him in a debate on matters related to the economy.

This came after the coalition’s big guns Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and caretaker Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor turned down the challenge.

The Economy Minister said Perikatan has been talking on social media as if they will come to power, following the state polls.

“When (I) call them for a debate, so that the people can evaluate their plans, they have rejected (the invitation),” he said in a tweet.

He questioned if the invitation for debate were rejected by Perikatan leaders because they did not have an idea or an economic plan.

“The evidence is in the states under their administration. Ruling is not merely a matter of power, but also the responsibility to better the lives of the people.

“Are there any other proposed names from Perikatan? Just worried that when we call them, (they) will ask to send a letter which they will later reject,” he said.

On July 31, Bachok MP Mohd Syahir Sulaiman had rejected Rafizi’s offer for debate.
