Health White Paper to be presented to Cabinet on June 2 before tabling in Dewan Rakyat

PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry is waiting for a date from Parliament to table the White Paper, says Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

The Health Minister said the White Paper will be presented first to the Cabinet on Friday (June 2).

“We are waiting for the specific date from the Dewan Rakyat to table the White Paper.

“The tabling of the White Paper has been approved by the Dewan Rakyat secretary for the June proceedings,” she said during the White Paper briefing with the media here on Tuesday (May 30).

Earlier in the day, Dr Zaliha told reporters that the Health White Paper is expected to be tabled at the Dewan Rakyat next week.

Meanwhile, Dr Zaliha said a special task force will be set up to execute and oversee the strategies planned under the White Paper.

“The special task force will not only comprise the ministry’s officers, but also other stakeholders, so we can achieve a solution that is inclusive,” she said.

The 15-year plan for the White Paper outlines four main pillars comprising 15 reformation strategies in the direction of offering high quality, equitable and affordable health services.
