PUTRAJAYA: A managing director of a company will be charged with nine counts of corruption in connection with the Jana Wibawa programme today as graft investigators’ probe into the scheme intensifies.

It is learned that the MD will be charged at the Johor Baru Sessions Court at 9am.

Also to face new charges is businessman Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, this time at the Shah Alam Sessions Court.

Sources said he would face two other corruption charges concerning the Jana Wibawa scheme.

Yesterday, he was slapped with two corruption charges at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.

“Yes, there will be charges tomorrow, in Johor Baru and Shah Alam,” a source told The Star.On Monday, prosecutors brought corruption charges against Adam Radlan, and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s information chief and Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s chief commissioner, Tan Sri Azam Baki, said the investigation into the Jana Wiba programme was ongoing.

“There will be more individuals to be called up for questioning. We will call ministers and government officials who probably know a thing or two about this programme,” he said.

He was, however, tight-lipped when asked who among the ministers had been summoned in connection with the Jana Wibawa programme.

Azam described cases brought to the court concerning the programme as “only the beginning”.

“As we are still investigating, there may be others who will be charged. Let my investigators do their job, and we’ll see the outcome,” he said.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and International Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, who was Finance Minister then, had been summoned by the MACC for statements.
