Johor polls: Maszlee Malik casts vote in Simpang Renggam, urges high voter turnout

SIMPANG RENGGAM: Former education minister and Pakatan Harapan's Puteri Wangsa candidate Dr Maszlee Malik cast his vote at SJK (C) Tuan Poon here at 9am on Saturday (July 11).

Maszlee, who is registered as a voter in the Machap state constituency, said he would return to Puteri Wangsa after voting to monitor the polling process there.

"The voting process was smooth. I was informed that by about 8am, around 60 voters had already cast their ballots at one of the polling streams for senior citizens.

"I hope more voters will come out to fulfil their responsibility as voters," he told reporters after casting his ballot.

Maszlee also expressed hope that Pakatan Harapan's Machap candidate Nor Hafiz would pull off an upset in the state election.

"I wish all the best to every candidate contesting in Machap and Layang-Layang. I hope the people will choose the best candidates," he said.

The Machap state seat is witnessing a straight fight between incumbent Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi of Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan's Nor Hafiz.
