PUTRAJAYA: The Customs Department has failed to collect RM72.32mil in customs duties for imported vehicles brought out of duty-free islands, revealed the Auditor-General's 2021 Series 2 report.
Highlighting the weaknesses in Custom's collection of duties, the report said the amount was not collected due to inaccurate calculation of excise duties and the lack of compliance with residential and vehicle ownership requirements.
