PUTRAJAYA: The DAP central executive committee's (CEC) decision for party secretary-general Anthony Loke to offer his resignation as Transport Minister must be respected, says Hannah Yeoh.
She was responding to a question if she would also resign as a minister.
"I don't want to disclose other points discussed during the meeting, though many suggestions were given and listened to.
"We must respect the CEC's decision," she said during a press conference about this year's Deepavali bazaar in Kuala Lumpur at Menara Seri Wilayah in Putrajaya on Monday (Sept 21).
The emergency meeting was held after His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia had on Sept 18 granted former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak a conditional pardon.
This would allow him to spend the rest of his jail term under house arrest until Aug 23, 2028, provided he fulfils all specified conditions, including paying a RM50mil fine.
Najib, 73, began serving his sentence at Kajang Prison on Aug 23, 2022, over the misappropriation of RM42mil in SRC International funds.
Loke said that all other DAP ministers would remain in the Cabinet to ensure political stability.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to meet Loke after he returns from his official visit to China to discuss his resignation.
