Unidentified body found in Tawau plantation


KOTA KINABALU: An unidentified body of a man was found at a private plantation in Tawau on Monday (Jan 16).

Tawau district police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said authorities received a call at 11.46am about the discovery of the remains at the plantation at Jalan Anjur Juara, Batu 5.

Also found at the scene near the body was a white Perodua Myvi car, he said in a statement.

“The body was believed to have been there for several days with no obvious external injuries.

“No documentation was found on the deceased, and the remains have been sent to the Tawau Hospital forensics department for an autopsy.

“The investigation continues,” ACP Jasmin added.
