Batang Kali landslide: Selangor fire dept chief suffers minor stroke, SAR efforts to continue regardless


PETALING JAYA: Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis (pic) has been rushed to Hospital Selayang after suffering a minor stroke.

In a statement on Monday (Dec 19) evening, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre said he was rushed to hospital for exhaustion and a minor stroke.

"He was taken to hospital at 6pm and is conscious and in stable condition.

"The search and rescue efforts (for the Batang Kali landslide) will continue. Let us all pray for him to have a speedy recovery," it said.

Norazam has been at the site of Fathers Organic Farm landslide at Batang Kali since the disaster was reported to the authorities in the wee hours of Friday (Dec 16) morning.
