PETALING JAYA: A 60-year-old man died while leading a group of Form Six students on a hiking trip in Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor.
He was found unconscious at the Simpang Ulu Tamu Forest on Monday (Sept 14), Sinar Harian reported.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 12.35pm.
He said a team from the Kuala Kubu Bharu fire station was dispatched to the scene, about 22km away.
"Upon arrival, the operations commander was informed that a 60-year-old local man had been found unconscious while leading Form Six students on a hiking activity," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 15).
Ashrul Riezal said the man was later pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel.
Firefighters brought the body down from the area before handing it over to the police for further action.
