Viral poster saying Zahid is Deputy PM is false, says PM's Department

KUALA LUMPUR: A viral poster congratulating Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on becoming the Deputy Prime Minister is fake news, says the Prime Minister's Department.

In a post on social media on Monday (Nov 28), the Department said the claims in poster – that Dr Ahmad Zahid has been appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister – are untrue.

"The information in the poster is false. We urge the public not to spread or share information that they are unsure of or could be false," the Department said.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has said that the position of Deputy Prime Minister is expected to be given to the other strongest bloc in the unity government, either Barisan or Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
