GE15: Campaign banners splashed with black paint in Kulai


KULAI: Police are investigating a report that campaign banners were splashed with black paint on Jalan Seni, Pekan Senai, here.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the police received the reports on the vandalism case at 10am on Sunday (Nov 13) from political party members.

“A team of investigators was deployed to the scene and two posters among several banners of a candidate from Barisan Nasional had been smeared with black paint and the word ‘rat’,” he said in a statement here on Sunday (Nov 13).

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief, which carries a maximum five-year jail term, a fine, or both upon conviction.
