Over 1,200 homes for civil servants in Melaka, says CM

MELAKA: Five housing schemes and one residential project offering 1,277 units have been designated for civil servants in the state, says the Melaka Chief Minister.

Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali said 1,077 units at these schemes had been completed as of Oct 31 while another 200 are in the midst of construction.

"Completed units are located at Tanjung, Taman Angkasa Nuri, Bertam Impian, Jasin Bestari and Taman Mekar Jaya while one ongoing project with 200 units allocated to civil servants is at Admiral Residence in Kota Laksamana.

"The state government makes sure that civil servants can own their properties through this effort.

"A similar initiative is also extended to locals who are under the deserving category and eligible for subsidised homes," he said after handing over house keys to 145 buyers of homes for civil servants at Taman Mekar Jaya in Air Baruk, Jasin here on Saturday (Nov 12).

He said the subsidised houses are meant for civil servants buying a property for the first time.

Sulaiman added that there are various categories of houses offered based on the affordability of the buyers and the maximum price is less than RM200,000.
