PETALING JAYA: Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd has obtained help from other bus providers other than its sister company, Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, to help commuters affected by the week-long stoppage of the Kelana Jaya LRT line affecting 16 stations.

In a statement on Wednesday (Nov 9) evening, the company said Rapid Bus will increase 40 more free feeder buses, as well as obtain the cooperation from Smart Selangor (operated by the Selangor government) and Mara Liner to add another 20 buses operated by them.

"For the time being, Rapid Bus will prepare 83 buses to meet the high demand, and the number will be ramped up to more than 120 to serve the five routes published earlier (see graphic).

"For additional manpower to assist passengers, 80 personnel from the Prasarana group will be deployed to help people with locating the feeder and bridging buses," added the operator of the Kelana Jaya LRT.

Rapid Rail also pledged to provide several days of free travel on its network for each day of stoppage after train services resume, with details to be announced in the near future.

"We will also keep the public updated on the rectification of the Kelana Jaya line through our social media channels (myrapid.com.my) and mass media," it added.
