Four-cornered fight for Melaka's Hang Tuah Jaya seat

MELAKA: The Hang Tuah Jaya seat will see a four-cornered fight as candidates from Barisan Nasional, Perikatan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan and Gerakan Tanah Air successfully filed their nomination papers on Saturday (Nov 5).

Barisan Nasional's Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali will be up against Pakatan's Adam Adli, Gerakan Tanah Air's Sheikh Ikhzan Sheikh Salleh and Mohd Azrudin Md Idris of Perikatan Nasional.

Adam Adli was the first to submit his nomination papers at 9.02am, followed by Mohd Ridhwan at 9.05, Mohd Azrudin at 9.09am and Sheikh Ikhzan at 9.12am.

Upon exiting the centre, candidates were greeted warmly by their supporters donned in their respective coalitions’ colours.

The sound of urumi drums played by Barisan supporters also filled the air as its candidate Mohd Ridhwan entered and exited the nomination centre.

Polling day for the 15th general election (GE15) falls on Nov 19.
