JOHOR BARU: Police are tracking down two suspects after a snatch theft at Bandar Baru Permas Jaya in Masai near here left a senior citizen injured.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Azrul Hisham Mohd Shaffei said the incident took place on Wednesday (July 8) and a police report was lodged at 6.36pm.
He said a 73-year-old housewife was outside her house at 5.26pm when two suspects on a white motorcycle approached.
"The pillion rider reached out and yanked the victim's gold chain, causing her to fall to the ground," ACP Azrul Hisham said in a statement on Thursday (July 9).
He added that the victim sustained an injury on her left elbow and swelling on her head.
ACP Azrul Hisham said both suspects are still and large and the police are now looking for them.
The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt while committing or attempting robbery.
