GE15: Khairy welcomes Sg Buloh challenge, ready to win locals' support

KUALA LUMPUR: It's confirmed – Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is Barisan Nasional's candidate to contest the Sungai Buloh parliamentary seat.

Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had announced some of the Barisan candidates for the 15th General Election at an event at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Nov 1).

"Thanks to God, I was just announced as the Barisan candidate for the P.107 Sungai Buloh seat.

"Although the challenge is huge, I will do my best to meet and convince as many Sungai Buloh voters as possible to give me the opportunity," he tweeted.

Khairy was earlier spotted standing near two chairs marked 107 and 108 at the event, which refers to the Sungai Buloh and Shah Alam parliamentary seats respectively.

Asked by reporters where he would sit, Khairy merely said "James Bond", or "007" as he is known in the popular film franchise.

Khairy was likely referring to Sungai Buloh, which follows speculation he is set to take on the parliamentary seat in Selangor.
