ISKANDAR PUTERI: The police will double manpower for traffic control at the Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (KSAB) Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) area in preparation for polling day on Nov 19.
Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Rahmat Ariffin said there are currently 10 personnel at the CIQ in charge of directing traffic.
"We have made the necessary preparations, especially in terms of managing the traffic flow, to help those who are travelling home to vote on Nov 19.
"We expect to add another 10 personnel throughout the GE15 campaign period up until voting day," he told a press conference at Iskandar Puteri district police headquarters here on Monday (Oct 31).
Asked if police have identified any hotspots in Iskandar Puteri, ACP Rahmat said they are waiting for Nomination Day on Saturday (Nov 5) before confirming.
"We do not (know) the official candidates yet, so let's wait for the announcement from the Election Commission (EC) first," he said, adding that they have also not received any applications for ceramah permits so far.
