PETALING JAYA: Proceedings at Dewan Rakyat, which would have kicked off debates on Budget 2023, tabled last Friday, have come to a halt.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun confirmed yesterday that he had received the proclamation of the dissolution of Parliament signed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.The proclamation, said Azhar, was in accordance with Article 55(2) of the Federal Constitution, which provides the King with the discretion to dissolve Parliament.
