IT just wasn’t the burglar’s day! When a man broke into a house in Tamil Nadu, India, he least expected to be cornered by the owner’s dog, Makkal Osai reported.
The young man had apparently jumped over the fence thinking that no one was at home but he was caught by surprise instead by the dog, which attacked him.
The frightened man froze in place, with the dog standing guard until the occupants returned home two hours later.
The owner was shocked to find his pet with a captive and alerted the police, who arrested the would-be burglar.
He was lucky to escape without severe injuries, except for several stitches.

The statue itself was donated by a Tamil Nadu-based businessman, the organisers said.
The statue would attract more tourists to the area, they said.
