Upcoming Sabah budget will be a 'good one' for the people, says Hajiji

KOTA KINABALU: The Sarawak Budget to be tabled on Dec 4 will be people-centric and address issues the rakyat face, says Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

The Chief Minister said it would be a 'good one' for the people of Sabah.

"I do not want to reveal much until it is tabled but it will be good for the people and the development of the state.

"It will provide solutions to problems faced by Sabahans regarding water, electricity and roads," Hajiji said at a Deepavali celebration at Magellan Sutera, here on Sunday (Nov 8).

He also said he hoped Deepavali would bring light and blessings not only to the Indian community but all communities in Sabah.

"This is the true spirit of Malaysia we want to see – a multiracial society where celebrations are shared by everyone.

"Let us continue to uphold this spirit of unity for our common good," said Hajiji.

During the event, he presented contributions from the state government and the Sabah Indian Chamber of Commerce to the Sabah Society for the Blind and Jireh Home in Tuaran.

Over 1,400 people attended the event. Also present were Deputy Chief Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam and Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, state Cabinet ministers, Sabah State Secretary Datuk Zainudin Aman, elected representatives and various community leaders.
