Cops take statement of last person to see Zalina


SHAH ALAM: The statement of the last person known to have seen missing ex-newscaster Zalina Azman has been recorded, say police.

The person's statement was taken on Aug 16 in Shah Alam, with the individual telling police that their last encounter with Zalina was in July last year.

The witness, a friend, told the police that Zalina had appeared normal then, according to Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Iqbal Ibrahim.

On July 18 this year, it was reported that Zalina, whose full name is Zalina Shaharah Azman, had been reported missing since November.

A police report was lodged by her son Mikhael Norman, 33, on Nov 29.

She was reported missing after Mikhael failed to reach her on Nov 24 to say that her father was seeking treatment at a hospital.

As of now, the authorities believe that she is still in the country, following checks with the Immigration Department.
