Missing teen with autism found in Tanah Merah, Kelantan


KULAI: A teenager who has been missing since last Saturday (Aug 13) has been found safe at Tanah Merah, Kelantan.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said that the 16-year-old girl's step father lodged a missing person report at about 11.30am after she disappeared from her room in Jalan Nuri Bandar Putra.

"Following the report, we have opened investigation papers for a missing person case and have also made an announcement about the incident.

"At about 6pm on Thursday (Aug 18), investigating officers of the case received information that the teenager had been found at Tanah Merah, Kelantan," he said in a statement here on Saturday (Aug 20).

Meanwhile, her stepfather, Mohd Azmi Abdullah, 40 said that the teenager who has autism was believed to have been brought to the state by an unknown individual.

"We are grateful that she has been found safe with no injuries but she looks thinner now.

"We were told that the individual who brought her there has been arrested but we do not have any other information on the suspect," he said.
