KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat broke out into laughter when Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (BN-Pasir Salak) took a jibe at an Opposition MP by calling him “bald”.
The exchange that led to the jibe began when Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin (PH-Hang Tuah Jaya) stood up to debate the Anti-hopping Bill on Thursday (July 28) and thanked Tajuddin for “entertaining” the House after lunch.

“Pasir Salak took 15 minutes (to debate), it is unfair if I get 10 minutes. I thank the Deputy Speaker and also Pasir Salak for entertaining us after lunch,” Shamsul said in jest.
Tajuddin then told Shamsul to not mock him.
“Dont ridicule me. (Your) head is already bald and will become more bald,” Tajuddin said, and laughter broke out in the House.
Although Shamsul had pointed out to the Speaker that the words uttered by Tajuddin were “unparliamentary”, he couldn’t hide his amusement and was seen laughing with the others.
Another MP was also heard saying while laughing that Tajuddin should retract the “bald" remarks.
Earlier when debating the Bill, Tajuddin took a jibe at a DAP MP and challenged the Opposition to a face-off during the next general election.
“Let's have an election. You want an early election. Let’s do it,” he challenged.
“We are going to the rakyat to change you all. I promise you. You come to Pasir Salak and see whether you can win or not,” Tajuddin said to the Opposition.
He also blamed Opposition leaders for causing problems, adding that Tun Dr Mahathir (Pejuang-Langkawi) and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PH-Port Dickson) were party hoppers.
He was then corrected by M. Karupaiya (PH-Padang Serai) that Anwar did not hop but had gone on to set up a party, to which Tajuddin responded with a “shut up.”
The anti-hopping Bill is expected to be tabled for the third reading on Thursday.
