Tajuddin makes first appearance after reinstatement as Umno member

PETALING JAYA: Former Umno Supreme Council member, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, made his first public appearance at the 50th Barisan Nasional (BN) Golden Jubilee Celebration following his reinstatement as a party member.

The former Pasir Salak Member of Parliament was seen mingling with Barisan chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and other senior leaders during the convention held at Dewan Tun Razak 4, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), on Saturday (Dec 7).

Looking sharp in a songkok and glasses, Tajuddin appeared at ease as he engaged in friendly conversations with other party members, reported Sinar Harian.

Previously, Tajuddin’s membership was suspended for six years beginning in September 2022 for criticising the party, including matters related to the timing of the 15th General Election (GE15).

A letter dated June 21, 2022 detailing the suspension had also gone viral on social media.

Following his suspension, the former Non-Executive Chairman of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad reportedly appealed four times for his membership reinstated.

On Nov 25, Umno’s supreme council unanimously decided to lift Tajuddin’s suspension, reinstating him as an Umno member effective immediately.

Umno secretary-general, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, in a statement, announced that the decision was made in accordance with Clauses 10.6 and 5.3 of the party’s constitution.
