SHAH ALAM: Former TV3 personality Zalina Azman, who has been reported missing for the past eight months, is believed to be still in the country.

Checks with the Immigration Department indicated that the ex-news reader had not gone abroad, said Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim.

“We have received information in connection with Zalina but there is nothing concrete yet,” he said when contacted yesterday.

He said police would also record a statement from a man in Shah Alam who tweeted that a customer who came to his cafe on Sunday seemed to resemble Zalina.

The man would be called up soon to assist in the investigation, he said, adding that police would study the CCTV footage around the cafe.

“So far, all leads are negative, including so-called sightings of Zalina at the side of a road in Shah Alam. It turned out to be a homeless person,” said ACP Mohd Iqbal.

Since news spread of her disapperance, several people on social media said they had seen someone who looked like Zalina in different places in Shah Alam.

Her son, Mikhael Norman, 33, lodged a police report on Nov 29 last year about her disappearance.

On Monday, a picture and description of Zalina, whose full name is Zalina Shaharah Azman, were sent out by the Shah Alam police headquarters.

Police also called on those with information to contact Seksyen 6 Shah Alam police station at 03 5519 4622.
