PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested seven people, including two teenage girls, in connection with the armed robbery of a 21-year-old man at a condominium on Jalan Ampang.
Wangsa Maju OCPD Asst Comm Annas Sulaiman said police received a report at 9.02pm on July 31 from the victim, who claimed he was robbed by four unidentified men armed with a knife while at a condo unit in Kuala Lumpur.
Following investigations, a team from the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters' Criminal Investigation Department arrested five Malaysian men, aged between 22 and 38, and two Malaysian females, aged 13 and 19, at about 3am on Aug 1 in the parking area of Jalan Metro Pudu.
Police also seized a phone believed to have been taken during the robbery.
"The suspects have been remanded from Aug 1 and are being held at the Jinjang central lock-up.
"The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and gang robbery with the use of a weapon," he said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 2).
