Missing ex-newsreader Zalina still in the country, say police

SHAH ALAM: Former TV3 personality Zalina Azman who was reported missing is believed to be still in the country.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the police have checked with the Immigration Department and discovered that Zalina has not gone overseas.

"We also received some information in connection with Zalina but there is nothing concrete yet," he said when contacted on Wednesday (July 20).

On Monday (July 18), it was reported that Zalina - full name Zalina Shaharah Azman - has been reported missing since November last year.

A police report was lodged by her son Mikhael Norman, 33, on Nov 29 last year.

She was reported missing after Mikhael failed to reach her since Nov 24 last year to inform that her father was seeking treatment at a hospital.

Thus, ACP Mohd Iqbal had previously said that police spread the word about the missing victim to assist the police investigation.

The Shah Alam police headquarters distributed Zalina's photo and relevant information including her features.

Police also called on those with information to contact investigating officer Sjn Sabturia Lorong or Seksyen 6 Shah Alam police station at 03-55194622.
