PETALING JAYA: The Pakatan Harapan government is at the end of its tether and could collapse at any given moment, says PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari.
Following Barisan-Perikatan's decisive victory in the Negri Sembilan polls, the Pasir Mas MP said the cooperation should be pressed on ahead of the next general election and should not be distracted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s call for reconciliation
“Perikatan and Barisan leaders should not look back anymore. Continue with this winning formula. Serve the current government professionally and wait until parliament is dissolved,” he said on Sunday (Aug 2) on his Facebook page.
Fadhli said if the Barisan-Perikatan blueprint is replicated nationwide, the coalition could sweep all Peninsular states in GE16, including Penang -- a traditional Pakatan stronghold.
He also told Pakatan supporters that there was no point in continuing to back a team he said was almost certain to lose.
“After all, if any Pakatan MPs win, they will certainly not ask for allocations from the government just as they have not given allocations to the opposition in this term.
"It is better to support the winning team from the start,” he said.
Fadhli dismissed claims that Pakatan's electoral setbacks were due to voters being swayed by racial sentiment, insisting the public was capable of making its own judgment.
“There is a reason why the people rejected you. Don’t blame us by making it sound like racial sentiments deceived the people. Do you think people are not smart?” he said.
