Four killed in NKVE collision caused by car driving against traffic


SHAH ALAM: A motorist driving against the flow of traffic along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) is believed to have caused an accident which killed him and three others here.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said police were alerted about the accident which occurred near the Subang Exit of the expressway at around 4am.

"Initial investigations revealed a Proton Wira Aeroback driven by a 28-year-old male opposing traffic from Klang towards Kuala Lumpur.

"The vehicle hit a Proton Wira sedan, causing the drivers of both vehicles and two passengers in the sedan to die at the scene," he said when contacted on Saturday (June 11).

He said another passenger in the sedan suffered severe injuries.

"The bodies were sent to the Shah Alam Hospital for post mortem. We have classified the case under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act for causing death by driving recklessly," he said
