Four die in NKVE car crash


PETALING JAYA: Four people died in an accident along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) here.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the incident occurred at around 4.11am on Saturday (June 11).

"We received a distress call about the incident and dispatched a fire engine, emergency medical rescue services vehicle and nine personnel from the Kota Anggerik Fire Station to the scene.

"They arrived at the scene and found that an accident occurred between two cars near the Subang Exit along the NKVE," he said when contacted on Saturday.

He said five people were involved in the accident and personnel began extricating the bodies from the two mangled vehicles.

"Two men and two women were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel," he said, adding that the remaining victim suffered severe injuries in the accident.

He said the deceased have been identified as Puvaaneshwaran Paranjothi, 28, Lai Mun Fai, 28, Eng Siew Hooi, 31 and Leong Man Yuen, 27.

"The injured victim, Heng Chan Yee, 28, was rushed to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for medical treatment," he said.
