Kampung Parit Safran Darat home gutted in fire


AYER HITAM: A house at Kampung Parit Safran Darat near here was gutted in a fire on Monday (May 30).

Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue station chief Mohammad Shamin Mohamed Salikin said it received an emergency call regarding the fire at 12.59pm.

"Twelve firefighters from Ayer Hitam and Bandar Penggaram Fire and Rescue stations were deployed to the scene," he said in a statement.

Mohammad Shamin said two Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicles were used in the operations led by assistant commander Asyraf Nur Mohd Yusoff.

"The fire damaged 80% of the half-concrete, half-wooden house," he said.

Mohammad Shamin added the cause and the losses suffered were still under investigation.

The fire was put off at 2.22pm.
