Perak cops arrest almost 500 drug dealers in two-day ops


IPOH: Nearly 500 drug dealers and addicts were arrested by the police in a two-day ops held in the state.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said that under Ops Tapis Khas, a total of 32 drug haunts were raided.

He said several types of drugs including heroin, syabu, ketum, ecstasy, and ganja worth RM67,795.60 were confiscated.

"From the total, 36 individuals were arrested under the Special Preventive Measures (LLPN) Act 1985.

"Also 15 individuals on the wanted list were arrested," he told a press conference at the state police contingent headquarters here on Monday (Jan 24).

Comm Mior Faridalathrash said they also confiscated a revolver, three live bullets, two cars, nine motorcycles and cash.

He said the ops carried out were a cooperation from the police and the community.
