Bomb squad, K9 unit deployed after suspicious package found in Bangsar


KUALA LUMPUR: A suspicious-looking package left at the side of a rubbish container in Jalan Telawi, Bangsar here caused a scare on Saturday (Nov 27).

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor, in a statement on Sunday (Nov 28), said following a tip-off, police deployed their K9 squad along with several members of the bomb squad.

Checks and sweeps confirmed that the package was harmless.

"CCTV footage only showed the bottom half of the suspect leaving the bag at the location before leaving.

"The public are urged to not panic if any suspicious packages are found and to forward all information to the authorities," he said.

ACP Amihizam also urged witnesses to come forward.
