Phase Two of Special Covid-19 Aid to be paid out from Thursday (Nov 25), says PM

PUTRAJAYA: Phase Two of the Special Covid-19 Aid payments will be made beginning Thursday (Nov 25) involving an allocation of RM300mil, says the Prime Minister.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this time around, the payment will benefit 700,000 households, single individuals and senior citizens in the poor category.

“Phase Three of the payment will be made according to plan which is in December and will involve an allocation of RM1.2bil for 3.8 million households in the poor and B40 categories.

“I would like to stress that the government is always sensitive to and aware of the people’s concerns and needs.

“We hope the payment will help lighten the burden of the people who are still affected by the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said in a statement Tuesday (Nov 23).

Details on the payments, including payout status, can be viewed at https://bkc.hasil.gov.my

In September, the Prime Minister announced that the payout would be made in stages.

The aid is for the hardcore poor, B40 households with total monthly income of RM5,000 and below and senior citizens, as well as singles with a monthly income of RM2,500 and below, based on eligibility criteria under the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat 2021 aid package.

Under the special aid, hardcore poor households will receive RM1,300 each while eligible senior citizens and singles will get RM500.

For the B40 group, households are entitled to RM800 while eligible senior citizens and singles will get RM200.

In the M40, households will receive RM250 while qualified senior citizens and singles get RM100.
