Supply Bill 2027 tabled for first reading in Parliament


KUALA LUMPUR: The Supply Bill 2027 (Budget 2027) has been tabled for its first reading in Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 6).

Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan tabled the bill after Question Time on Tuesday morning.

Amir Hamzah said the bill would be tabled for its second reading at 3.30pm this Friday (Oct 9) by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister.

The bill seeks to authorise the use of funds from the Consolidated Fund for government services in 2027.

After the bill is tabled for second reading on Friday (Oct 9), it will proceed with policy-stage debates from Oct 12 to 22, followed by ministerial winding-up sessions from Oct 26 to 29.

The debate will then proceed to the committee stage from Nov 2 to 6.

The last six days of the sittings have been scheduled for other motions and government bills.
