Dr Wee meets Selangor MB, ECRL project among issues discussed

PETALING JAYA: A meeting took place between Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari where several issues, including the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project, were discussed.

The meeting on Monday (Nov 22) was also attended by the Ministry's secretary-general Datuk Isham Ishak, Malaysia Rail Link (MRL) Sdn Bhd CEO Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak and State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim.

"We were able to agree on various outstanding issues related to the ECRL project and find the best balance moving forward to ensure the project can progress successfully and bring the best value for Malaysia.

"We will have further information soon as our offices iron out the details," Dr Wee said in a Facebook post on Monday.

He added that the meeting demonstrated a good way forward for greater cooperation between the Federal and state governments on infrastructure issues.

"The most important driver for us is to develop facilities and infrastructure that would bring the greatest benefit to the people.

"This proves that we can work together for the common good for the future of Malaysia," he said.
