MELAKA: Melaka’s ex-chief minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali has successfully defended the Lendu seat with an increased majority, unofficial results show.
Both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan unofficial live results have shown that Sulaiman has won in Lendu.
According to the Barisan Nasional’s command centre, Sulaiman won 3,104 votes more than his closest opponent - Major (B) Abdullah Mahadi of Perikatan Nasional.
Pakatan Harapan’s Mohamad Asri Ibrahim is in third place in the three-cornered fight.
In GE14, Sulaiman won in Lendu with a razor-thin majority of 627.
For this state election, Lendu has 10,561 registered voters.
