MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan has failed to defend its Rembia seat, as unofficial results show Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Muhammad Jailani Khamis has won by nearly 1,000 votes.

According to Pakatan’s unofficial live results, Barisan’s Muhammad Jailani managed to garner 4,224 votes.

Pakatan’s Zamri Pakiri only managed to secure 3,364 votes, while Perikatan Nasional’s Zamzuri Ariffin had 2,433 votes.

Two other independent candidates, K. Murali and Sabarudin Kudus, both had fewer than 100 votes each.

In GE14, Muhammad Jailani won the Rembia seat under the PKR ticket.

He turned independent during the Sheraton Move in 2020, before joining Umno this year.
