I remain loyal to PKR, Lim tells Azmin

MELAKA: In a retort to Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, former Machap Jaya assemblyperson Ginie Lim has declared she remains loyal with the party despite being dropped as a PKR candidate in the upcoming Melaka state election.

Lim was responding to Azmin after the former PKR deputy president said on Tuesday he said he “sympathised” with Lim after she was dropped.

“Although I’m not contesting in the coming Melaka state election, I remain committed to the Pakatan Harapan agenda, as well as contributing ideas in national politics under the leadership of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” said Lim in a statement on Facebook yesterday.

Lim had served as a one-term Machap Jaya assemblyperson after she won in the 14th General Election.

Lim said Azmin should realise that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia is irrelevant to the future of the country.

“He should have returned to the right path, rather than letting himself be used as a tool of corruption,” said Lim, who added that it was sad that he chose to switch allegiances after being in the Opposition’s struggle for over 20 years.

In an event in Machap on Tuesday, Azmin said he was saddened by PKR’s decision to drop Lim and urged her to continue fighting.

Azmin claimed that Lim was a victim in PKR as she was seen aligned with him.
