KOTA KINABALU: The anti-party hopping law should make it mandatory for elected representatives who leave their parties to vacate their seats and contest it again with their new parties to see if they are still able garner constituents' votes.
Sabah state assembly speaker Datuk Kadzim M Yahya said they need to ensure that current proposals to make a seat automatically vacant once an elected representative leaves their party do not breach the Article 10 of the Federal Constitution.
