KUALA LUMPUR: Two corporate figures who are also brothers have been released on Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) bail after being remanded over an investigation into alleged abuse of power and irregularities involving a RM10mil investment.
The two suspects, who hold the titles of Datuk Seri and Datuk, were detained on Oct 1 and remanded for five days until Oct 5.
The brother with the 'Datuk' title was released on Oct 5 after his remand period ended, while the 'Datuk Seri' was released on Wednesday (Oct 7).
MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed that both suspects had been released on MACC bail.
During the investigation, the MACC seized 15 luxury cars worth about RM31mil, 12 high-powered motorcycles valued at about RM5mil, five luxury watches, three bracelets and about RM30,000 in cash.
MACC also froze two personal bank accounts containing about RM2mil.
The investigation is being conducted in connection with alleged irregularities and abuse of position involving the investment.
