Fire damages three houses in Penang's Kampung Jelutong Barat

GEORGE TOWN: Three Kampung Jelutong Barat houses were almost destroyed in a fire in the early hours of Saturday (Sept 18), says the Fire and Rescue Department.

“When the Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene, three houses were on fire. The estimated overall destruction is 80%,” said the Department.

The Department added that 12 people from two families were affected by the fire.

It added in a statement that no victims were reported, and said that the operation was led by the Jalan Perak fire station, assisted by the Lebuh Pantai and Bagan Jermal fire stations.

It has also since been determined that two of the houses were being lived in while the third was being used to store electrical equipment and wiring.
