Covid-19: More than 10 million individuals fully vaccinated, says Dr Adham

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): A total of 31.1% of the country’s population, or 10,144,199 people, have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as of Friday (Aug 13), says Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

In an infographic posted to his official Twitter account, the Health Minister said 16,707,566 people had received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the cumulative number of doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 26,851,765 as of Friday.

In terms of percentages, Dr Adham said 71.4% of the adult population has received their first dose and 43.3% had completed the second dose.

On the daily vaccination rate, he said 462,860 doses were administered on Friday, with 162,182 being the first dose and 300,678 the second dose.

The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme was launched on Feb 24, 2021, to contain the pandemic, which hit the country in early 2020. - Bernama
